Mike Scully

Chief Executive Officer

Mike Scully is the Chief Executive Officer of OTS where he is responsible for leading the credit union service organization (CUSO) in providing technology support and innovation for a three credit union consortium with approximately 2,500 employees, 1.3 million members and $26 billion in combined assets.

He is a highly experienced, transformational leader who has demonstrated the ability to assemble and build team-oriented organizations that successfully achieve revenue, financial and operational goals in an environment that builds high levels of employee and member loyalty. Mike has over 30 years’ experience in strategy development, plan execution, high-level collaboration and employee engagement. He has a long, successful history of working with Boards and stakeholders to develop innovative and cost-effective strategies for enhancing competitiveness, market awareness, increased revenues, and improved technology and operational service offerings and delivery.

In addition to his role as CEO of OTS, Mike serves as the CEO of S3 (Shared Service Solutions, LLC), a CUSO which provides operational support to the same consortium as OTS. In his role as CEO of S3, Mike helped plan, design, build and ultimately operate the company from the ground up to provide back-office banking functionality to its approximately 1.3 million members. The CUSO supports three large partner credit unions in the areas of deposit & bank operations, default management, real estate and consumer lending fulfillment, loan servicing and full-service contact center. Prior to S3, Mike served as an Executive Vice President at a nationally chartered community bank, President of a multi-channel real estate development company which included Mortgage, Title Services, Capital, Tenant Conversions and Real Estate Sales and a District Manager with Wells Fargo.

Sam Boggs III

Chief Operating Officer

Sam Boggs is the Chief Operating Officer for Open Technology Solutions where he is responsible for the company’s overall client experience including the key functions of Client Services, Data Center Operations, Network Management, Program and Project Management, Application Development, and our technology partner relationships.

Sam is a seasoned business executive with more than 30 years of demonstrated experience in operations, contact center, IT outsourcing services, client care operations management, implementations and business process management across multiple business segments to include Financial Services, Telecommunications, Retail, and Consumer Packaged goods.

He joined Open Technology Solutions from Backbase where he was the President of the North American market focused on their digital banking platform for Credit Unions and Banks below $30B in assets. Prior to that he was with Fiserv/Open Solutions where he served first as COO, and ultimately as President of the DNA division there. He led a team of over 2,000 associates supporting over 400 customers on the DNA core platform and oversaw unprecedented growth of the platform.

 He led several major teams at Siemens IT Solutions where he served as the Managing VP of Global Operations. He was responsible for all infrastructure delivery services and managed a team of 4,000 employees who provided desk side support, customer care, network services and data center services to their entire North American customer base. He was also the Regional Vice President, Siemens Group North America. In this position he and his team had all delivery and customer management responsibility for the Siemens Operating Companies located in the U.S, Canada, and Mexico. His team was responsible for support of all infrastructure and application management services for over 77,000 end users located throughout the region. Prior to his role as Regional Vice President Siemens Group, he served as Vice President of Help Desk Services, and was responsible for all Global Customer Interaction Center Operations for Siemens Business Services. He managed operations centers located in Cincinnati, Ohio, Toronto, Canada, Manila, and India.

He was a Major in the US Army serving on active duty for over 10 years. He is active in several Veterans support organizations. Sam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from the University of Maryland. He lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife, and their three sons.

Valerie Brandenburg

Chief Human Resources Officer

Val Brandenburg brings more than 30 years of Human Resources experience to OTS. She has put her passion for enhancing the employee experience to work in the healthcare, health insurance and banking industries. She has supported companies ranging in size from 1,000 to over 10,000 employees as well as local and national organizations.

Val joined OTS in April 2024 as the Senior Director, Human Resources. She serves a dual leadership role of supporting OTS and it’s sister Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO), S3 Shared Service Solutions where she has lead the HR team since February 2022.

Val earned her Masters degree in Management from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and Bachelors degree in Business from Towson University. She has a passion for animals and loves her two yellow labs.

Paula Telck

Director of Finance

Paula Telck joined Open Technology Solutions in December 2017. She brings over 25 years of experience in Finance, banking and accounting experience to her role as OTS’s Director of Finance. In her current role, Paula is part of OTS’s executive team and plays a key role in financial reporting, developing and executing OTS’s annual budget and working closely with management for cost management and containment. It may be easy to stereotype (and your eyes may have even glazed over) with all this speak of corporate finance but deep in Paula’s heart lies the soul of a biker – Mountain Biker! Mountain biking requires quick actions and reactions, and mental and physical stamina. Ultimately, it keeps her focused, grounded and is an endless challenge, just like her day job, which is why she loves and seeks to be immersed in both.

Doug Kearbey

Director of Information Security, Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC)

Doug Kearbey brings more than 30 years of successful credit union and information security experience. His knowledge of financial services, audit management, digital banking, administration, and project management provides a diverse set of skills from which to drive on-going success.

Beginning his corporate journey with Bellco Credit Union, Doug has worked in various director and executive level roles throughout his long career. His desire to implement and achieve lasting success has garnered ongoing and varied leadership opportunities.

Doug earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Northern Colorado where he focused on Computer Information Systems. Recently, he completed studies at Western CUNA Management School graduating with honors. He is passionate about blending systems, methods, and processes to generate and realize true workplace transformation.

Lori Pedersen

Senior Director of Strategic Delivery

Lori Pedersen, Senior Director of Strategic Delivery, brings a background with a variety of IT roles and industries. She started her career in the financial services industry at UNIPAC/Nelnet as an old-school COBOL mainframe application developer before transitioning to project, process and people leadership roles. More recently Lori has led global PMO teams in the technology industry including Wipro and Hitachi Vantara.  Lori joined Open Technology Solutions in January 2022 as the Director of Strategic Planning. She has taken on leadership of the OTS Project Management Office and served as the project sponsor for the implementation of the new consortium CRM solution – MemberConnect.  In February 2023, Lori was promoted to Senior Director of Strategic Delivery with responsibility for interfacing with the Consortium Executive Committee (CEC) for project delivery related topics.

Lori has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from the University of Iowa. Outside of work, Lori is a passionate theatre lover, supporting many local theatre companies in addition to as many Broadway trips as time and finances permit.

Chris Riggle

Director of Voice and Collaboration

Chris Riggle comes to OTS with more than 20 years in the Contact Center and Financial Services verticals. Chris also brings experience from multiple vendors related to Customer Experience platforms such as Genesys, inContact, and Five9. Experience on both the customer and vendor sides allows Chris to bridge the gap that often exists between business requirements and technology solutions. Helping customers realize their Customer Experience journeys and delivering on the needs of the customer has been Chris’ focus for multiple large financial institutions over the past two decades. Chris earned his Masters in Information Technology Management and holds a BS in Business from West Liberty University. Chris is a 20+ year resident of Colorado and enjoys all that it has to offer related to golf, camping, and several other outdoor activities with his wife and kids.

Rob Wright

Director of Applications

Rob Wright brings more than 35 years of experience in the Financial Industry providing IT services and support to credit union members. He started his career working in a credit union data center. He has held various positions ranging from Computer Operator to IT Manager bringing technology and software solutions to the credit union membership. He joined Open Technology Solutions in 2008 as a Senior Application Support Specialist. He now oversees Application Support and Development, Automation Support and Development, and Business Technology Operations.

Rob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Metropolitan State College. In his free time, he enjoys camping and fishing with his wife and kids

Shawn Burk

Sr. Director of IT Infrastructure Operations

Shawn Burk brings extensive experience across a wide variety of industries to his role as Director of IT Infrastructure Operations at Open Technology Solutions, including IT Managed Services, Software as a Service (SaaS), and State, Local, and Education (SLED). Shawn previously served as the Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure and Security at the E-470 Public Highway Authority, Shawn is known for cultivating collaboration, fostering growth, and instilling a sense of ownership among teams.

Committed to meaningful work, Shawn engages teams in strategic planning and goal setting, instilling purpose and dedication. He champions a balanced approach to disciplined innovation and operational excellence while nurturing talent for long-term success.

Residing in Castle Rock, Colorado, with his wife and son, Shawn enjoys all types of auto racing and cherishes moments with his family, including traveling, watching movies, or attending sporting events including Rockies baseball.
